digital camera or card reader not appearing when plugged in to usb ports?
I have a vivitar camera (new) and when i plug it into my USB port it`s supposed to appear in “my computer” as a mass storage device or a removable storage device. This doesn`t happen.
I`m running XP with SP2.
I have another digi camera (Aiptek) which works fine on any USB port.
When i plug in the vivitar it brings up the new hardware wizard which asks me to install the software CD, if I have one, which I do, but its only for windows 98.
In device manager the camera appears as an unknown device with a yellow question mark over the icon. When i click on properties i get the “code 28 – the drivers for this device are not installed” message.
To remedy this problem i bought a memory card and a reader thinking this would work but I have exactly the same problem with this device.
Try this fix….
