Can i get cash if i bring a buisness check to the bank the check is from?
alright well im in a sticky situation right now. i moved to new york city on a whim without a job. i recently sold my expensive video camera to an electronics superstore and theyre holding it for evaluation til tomorrow. if all goes well im getting a $1,200 check tomorrow. but i need the money immediatly after i get the check. so if i bring it to their bank (TD) could i get the payment in cash or do i have to deposit it in my bank and wait til monday for the check to clear?
i also dont wanna take it to a check cashing place because if they take 3-5% of what the check it worth thats already $40-$60… and thats a lot of mo.ey to me.
one more thing. im not with TD bank im with Wachovia. does that make a difference?

Yes, the bank that the check is drawn off of can charge a check cashing fee (a lot of the bigger banks do this now…Chase, BB&T, National City, U.S. Bank, etc). So be prepared that they might charge $5-$10 to cash it. You might want to take the check to your own bank and see if they will cash it for you there instead of going to TD and possibly paying a fee.
