Which is better for recording a student film, a tripod or a monopod?
Hello, I’m a director/producer. I was starting a brand new idea of creating a teen film. I have a camera and set ready but I’m missing the most important thing, a place to set my camera! My camera is a round small video camera and weighs pretty much. The movie always takes place in smooth places like the grass, dirt, and the streets. There won’t be quite a lot of moving but I am still undecided. Should I get a tripod or a monopod? Which is better? Also, what’s the difference? Thanks!
You need a tripod with fluid head. Monopods are designed for sports and nature photographers when using long lenses when shooting their subjects.
A monopod will fall down when you let go of the camera. You need a tripod for shooting film or video.
