Do I need a to install a usb driver for my web camera to work?
Ok I just tried to set up my pc camera,only to be disappointed.I have a software that came with it called Ulead Video Studio that lets you install the Pc camera driver.I followed the instructions and clicked on install pc camera driver.it did not work.the screen is always black.so what I did was I went to device manager and clicked on video.it said to find driver and install it.I clicked on that and it started downloading then it asked for me to put my windows 98 cd rom in.I do not have my windows 98 cds anymore.can some body tell me if there is a site on here that lets you download a driver. also Im puzzled is it a usb driver that I have to install.I had windows 98 cds with my first computer but I misplaced them.I have no clue where they could be.if anybody can help me.please do.Ive about had it with this Digital Camera/Pc Camera.Ok before I went to submit my question I just noticed on the software it says For Windows 98SE/Me.Im using Microsoft Windows Nt 98.it says usb/pc cam.
Win98 is notorious for not meshing well with USB. The best way to solve the problem would be to install the latest drivers for your motherboard, then your camera. Make sure Win98 is updated as much as possible. Its End Of Life, so the updates should be “complete.” If it still doesn’t work, you may need to ask the camera’s manufacturer for specific drivers.
