Sony Cyber-shot digital camera. In the LCD screen, there is a blue dot. Should I exchange the camera?
We just purchased the camera on Friday (it’s Monday). I noticed a blue dot on the LCD screen. It is there whether in shooting mode or viewing mode. I do not think it affects the actual picture. But we only have 14 days to exchange it. Is it likely that more blue dots will appear? Should we exchange it now while we can? Thanks!
Your dealer, if he’s local, may be kind enough to exchange it. However, it’s entirely possible the next one will have one or more stuck/dead pixels. It has absolutely no effect on the photo.
If you check your user’s manual, it says that this is not uncommon. The major manufacturers (Sony, Canon, etc.) generally will not replace a camera just for one or a few stuck pixels. It’s going to be entirely the call of the dealer, and how much he wants to please you.
My $400+ Canon camera has a stuck red one, I barely even notice it.
