Stock Photography/Illustration?

I’m looking to branch off into earning extra income and have been pricing cameras. A D-SLR is out of my budget but is there a digital camera (between 7-12 MP) that is less than $200 that anyone would recommend for semi-professional use?

P.S. I’m looking to start with micro-stock agencies and then progress from there.

You would have to look into used cameras. But the camera is only a fraction of running a stock business. You need the full photoshop version and you need the digital post production skills. Most stock images do not sell not even in Micro stock.

You need a good camera and good lenses. Even my snap and shoot camera was twice what you would like to spend. Perhaps if you look into used cameras.

I see endless people here posting that they would like to get into stock photography. I highly recommend everyone who is interested in this field to get educated. Seek out other stock shooters and forums for such. Read books etc. Learn to register your images with the copyright office.
