My dslr camera has a problem?
A couple of days ago my Nikon d80 (sigma camera lenses) had an accident. It was dropped and the UV filter I had on the lens was shattered. On the outside the lenses look fine, as if nothing happened. But ever since, the camera has a problem: when I take pictures in manual mode, and i set the diaphragm, ISO and shutter speed correctly, for good exposure, the picture comes out underexposed. It is as if the camera is not getting enough light. I have to lower the shutter speed very very much to have a decent picture. On the other hand, the screen indicates the exposure correctly, only the picture turns out wrongly.
Any ideas what the problem is? Or, can you tell me if the problem is with the lenses or the body?
Thanks
I’m not very good at this… but let’s try: shutter: 1/320, aperture f5.3, ISO 1200, exp: -5.0. The picture is very dark, barely shows any details and it was taken in a room lit by 3 eco light bulbs of 100 watt and natural light from a window.
Does this help?
How much of underexposure are you facing? How much is the ‘very very much’ lowering of shutter speed? Can you provide some example photos with the EXIF data and some information about the ambient lighting ?
