Digital Cameras, what to get? ~£150, samsung Pl60 and PL65 tempting, but no manual focus :s?
I’m after a new digital camera, starting an art course and a step up from my phone camera would be nice. :p
I’m after something still available on the high-street as I’ve not really got time to have anything shipped online.
I’m after a camera with optical+digital image stabilisation (my hands can be pretty unsteady sometimes), rechargeable battery built in is a must. I need something small enough for my pocket and I’d rather avoid sony just because their memory cards are annoyingly expensive.
Looked at the PL60 and PL65 which seemed perfect, but I found out they don’t have manual focussing, which could be a creativity killer in some situations… any ideas appreciated. Thanks 
Manual focus is still the preserve of the prosumer camera. If you want MF then Nikon D40 and Canon 300D are becoming available with lens at those prices, if you want a compact forget about getting one at that price. Additionally you can forget about Samsung, who aren’t too good at making cameras.
