why are the numbers on my diana camera upside down?
I have a diana dreamer camera and when i load the film in (120) the numbers are upside down in the red box. am i doing something wrong and will this affect my pictures? I’m really new to this.
You’re doing it right. I suppose you can consider it one of the many quirks of a Diana.
120 film was created by Kodak for their Brownie No. 2 camera in 1901. With the ergonomics of that camera, the direction of the numbers made sense.
With some later medium format cameras, such as my 1950s Zeiss Ikonta, the film traveled from right to left. With those cameras the numbers on the film backing also appear right side up.
