is it illegal to have a rear view camera with monitor on a motorbike?
I was thinking about mounting a rear view camera with 7″ monitor on my scooter and i would like to know if it is legal or not i have been told conflicting stories and have only seen one scooter with a camera on but I’m still not sure don’t want any more tickets fed up of paying them thanks if you can help
The UK Law states that no monitor should be viewable whilst the vehicle is in forward motion, you could install the camera, and use a recording device, and view it whilst the gear is in neutral, or if required for reverse the monitor should only be viewable in reverse, in your case, the former is correct, I’m wondering why you want/need such a system.
A rearview monitor is already fitted on cars and bikes, its called a mirror
