which nikon camera should i get?

im looking at the D90, D80, D60, D40, and the D5000.
I dont know their prices but i dont want to spend more than $700.
I want a camera that fits a water proof casing.
which one should i get?

I just quickly checked up Amazon as I have found them a pretty good place to look for camera equipment.

You don’t specify if that 700 dollars also include the water proof casing or not, but amazon.com has one for 108 dollars plus shipping and handling.

That case supports every Nikon camera you inquired about.

Nikon’s website lists the MSRP of the cameras at (These do not include a lens either):
D40: $499.95

What’s In My Camera Bag 2

You May Be Having A Hard Time Finding the Nikon D7000

Marketed between the pro grade D300S and the pseudo-professional grade D90, the D7000 is not another point-and-shoot, but at the same time it packs the best bang for you buck. Designed with the newest updates, Nikon’s latest DSLR includes a chockfull of features within its tight Magnesium-alloy casing, which is weather-proofed and engineered to get rid of the dust and water. Whether you’re getting a digital single-lens reflect camera for the for the first time of your life or you’re a seasoned amateur looking to upgrade his or her tools, the D7000 has the features that can grow alongside you.

With a DSLR of such caliber, the professionals out there trying to make a living through this art medium might have to compete with amateurs. This isn’t just some normal point and shoot the average Joe would get at the local Best Buy store. No. The Nikon D7000 incorporates the recently created EXPEED 2 image processor, making the D90 feel like a tortoise in processing speed. To show the photographer with a clear display of the desired subject, Nikon incorporated a 3 inch TFT LCD screen with a 640×480 VGA resolution. This LCD screen has a 170-degree ultra-wide viewing angle, providing anyone the best possible shot in the toughest of situations. To make matters smoother, the LCD also has 100% view coverage. Basically, what you see through the viewfinder is what comes out on paper. Your work should come out as expected.

Until recently, only a limited amount of video cameras had such abilities, and now a DSLR has such abilities. It makes anyone wonder what the designers at Nikon have prepared in the future. So imagine driving around across the country with your closest amigos, capturing photographs of the views and people you come across, when the ideal event comes up. Why carry around a separate camcorder, when with a few quick switches and button clicks, you have a Hollywood-caliber tool for your own use? You don’t have to resort to carrying around that extra camcorder or even your smart phone for its cheap video capabilities. We are in the year 2010, and anyone who needs to make their pieces of artistic media different from the rest has to record in 1080p. As an amateur who began in photography taking photographs with a basic point and shoot, I can say that for people in such a position, adding the Nikon D7000 into their arsenal would help develop the learning photographer well beyond his or her boundaries. Being constrained by the basic functionality and limited features of point and shoots, anyone’s possible talent can be totally ruined. Not one person wishes to be wasted talent. That is why when I was progressing in my first photography class and picked up on the fact that I had a knack for photography, I did whatever it took to find the money my first DSLR. While my Canon point and shoot was such a good camera and well-featured, I had to step it up to the upper grade of cameras. Gathered over a thousand dollars for a D90 casing, lens, and flash. Of course, my bank account was basically empty after this purchase, but my work kept improving. Sure, the artist is what makes the photo, not necessarily the gadget utilized, but upgrading to a DSLR from a point and shoot made such a huge difference.

Do you want to make strides with your photography? Do you have the desire to upgrade to the latest Nikon DSLR? Do you want to display more value to your works of art? Don’t get left in the dust. Visit the following site to harness the power of the Nikon D7000.
