What’s a good solid tripod for the Nikon D60?

I’m looking for a good tripod for the Nikon D60. I don’t want a cheap one that’s un-sturdy and will easily break and destroy my camera. I want it to be a full size tripod between 100-160+ cm. I’d like to buy it somewhere online that ships to Australia and for it to come with a carry case. What’s a good quality tripod that isn’t too expensive? Sturdy but very good bang for your buck. (I’m looking to pay about 120 (down-wards) but I may go up quite a bit for the right one.) Suggestions and advice please.

Call B&H Photo, 800.952.1815 / 212.444.6708. They will do an outstanding job matching your camera to a tripod. You tell them your equipment, and how you want to use it, they will point you at best product (not up-sell, but what you need), based on your equipment weight, product reviews, and how you will use it (which head to get). Yeah you could fish on the website, but they will give you great personal attention and ensure you are happy with your product.

My Camera Bag

Nikon D60 – A Nikon SLR Digital Camera With High quality Optics

For six years, I’ve been loyal to making use of my Canon PowerShot point-and-shoot compact digital camera simply because it’s little, lightweight, and rather portable. I’ve taken thousands of terrific shots with my PowerShot as I’ve taken it with me on my travels and practically everywhere I went. On the other hand, I believe I’ve reached the point where I wish to take my love for photography and taking pictures by obtaining a digital SLR camera.

So I started reading and going by way of tons of user reviews for digital SLR cameras, and I’ve narrowed my selections down to Sony A300 along with the Nikon D60. I went to many stores to get comparisons of these two cameras until I finally settled on the D60. Why? The Nikon SLR digital camera felt extra lightweight than the Sony A300 along with the LCD menu or user interface was a lot more user-friendly and intuitive. Additionally to that, the D60 supports Nikkor lenses which are among the most effective inside the market. I knew that I would later on branch out and get much more lenses so I went for the D60.

I got my D60 from Amazon simply because of their 30-day price match policy. This means that if the price of your camera lowers within 30 days upon buy, you may email Amazon and they’ll credit you with the price distinction. In my case, the D60′s going price went down thrice after I bought it, and Amazon quickly gave me a refund for the 3 times the price decreased. I suggest you do the exact same factor, just be sure you maintain a constant watch on the price of your camera.

The D60 is uncomplicated to use, along with a main bonus is how light it feels. The kit lens with vibration reduction or VR balances well with the body of camera so the weight of the lens does not trigger the camera to point down. With 10.2 megapixel capacity along with a bundled 18-55mm AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens, the D60 is able to come out with wonderful, high-quality shots. I also like that the D60 works incredibly well even in low-light settings, regardless of regardless of whether you use a flash or not. The high quality of the pictures I get is far superior than those I utilized to get with my compact digital camera.

An additional reason why I went for the D60 was its intuitive LCD menu. In the event you press the correct button although moving the mode dial, you’ll see a brief description of what every mode is about and what it does – some thing which is incredibly helpful for a first-time SLR camera user like me. The manual is fairly extensive, even though in the event you want a much more detailed guide book, it is possible to get a separate 1 from bookstores. I suggest the D60-specific guide book by David Busch.
