is using a replacement charger bad for the original battery?
i have a nikon EN-EL10 battery and i recently bought a replacement battery charger, i charged the battery for about 20 and tried in on the camere and it seemed to have worked fine for the first couple of minutes but then all of the sudden the screen just went blank with out a warning leaving the lens out, i assumed it was because of the low battery it had. then i fully recharged the battery, placed it in the camera but the camera wouldnt turn on, wat happened??
If the charger is not like the original, then it may be outputting a lower voltage. This voltage should be higher than that of the battery, for a charging current to flow from the charger to the battery. Using a lower voltage charger, when the voltage on the battery reaches that of the charger, the charge would stop sooner than it should, resulting on an incomplete charge.
