Problem with Kodak EasyShare CD82?
I’m trying to put some pictures I edited back onto my camera, but when I do it says they are in an unknown format. But when I check on my computer they are “Irfranview JPG” which I’m not sure is any different from normal JPG.
Anyone know a solution, or other formats that would work on my camera?
Don’t put them back on your camera.
Cameras have very simple firmware. They have to put their entire operating system into the space that your computer uses just to recognise a file. To do this they take many things as set and alway the same – file types and file names among them. Any changes to these and the camera can’t see them or mis-reads them, displaying broken files or distorted images.
When you download pictures the computer sets them up to get the best from them that it can, changing the files in the process, so if you try to replace them on the camera there are problems.
Worst case scenario is theat your card freezes requiring a format.
BTW the Irfanview JPG is obviously different in some way because your computer spotted it.
