Holga camera help!!! Photography help please?

If i get the Holga 35 mm camera http://microsites.lomography.com/holga/family/holga-35mm
can i use any kind of 35 mm film to get pictures that look like these?http://microsites.lomography.com/holga/galleries/light-leaked-and-messed-up/13

or do i need to get a certain kind of film?

Yes, you can use any film. Be sure you understand though, that the “lomography” branded film is nothing special. It is just film repackaged into the lomo boxes. Some people think they HAVE to use the overpriced “lomography film” with their Holgas and Dianas and such. No. Just use any 35mm film you can get hold of, EXCEPT for slide film. Slide film has extremely narrow exposure latitude. The Holga is already crippled with only a 1/125 shutter speed and f11 aperture, so getting consistently good exposures on every shot is difficult anyway. Using slide film would make it almost impossible. I like using ISO 400 black and white film personally, but any color C41 process negative film you find hanging on a rack in stores will work fine for you. Be expecting lots of poorly exposed shots. Though it seems illogical, a toy camera such as this is MUCH more difficult to get good results from than a “real” 35mm SLR. You have no control with a Holga, and you have to learn to shoot in only certain light conditions that match whatever film you are using, or if in dim light, make exposures using the Bulb mode and literally counting the seconds with the shutter held open with a cable release.
