What do you think about the future of photography?
I’ve had my ear to the grapevine lately on the future of photography. With the advent of HD video, and in particular the integration of it into DSLR cameras, they are capable of taking a single from from a video that is of high enough quality for magazine print. Per it’s usual MO, technology is only advancing and it cannot be stopped.
Printed advertisement is at an all time low in favor of web based advertising, and moving images in magazines is something that’s under a decade away thanks to super thin LCDS.
Do you think this will have any effect on still photography as we know it?
Do you think the future of fashion and high level commercial photography lies in frames captured from HD video or do you think there will always be a place for creating images as we know it today?
I personally like to think that still images will always have a place, but as I said technology is a machine that cannot be stopped.
Good quality stills will still be required for many years to come.
