Why a digital still cam fires flash twice. When it takes picture – in 1st flash or in 2nd or in between these.
Previously I was using film camera and all know they flash only once. I use Softbox (studio flash system) to capture images. But now in digital camera they are glowing only once (on the first flash). Are they really working? I need a studio prof’s help.
The first flash is to set the white balance and exposure, not red eye. It happens to fast to be of any help for red eye. Most people dont even know that it flashes twice or more.
If you have the ability with your camera, set your on camera flash to manual. That way its not trying to set exposure and white balance.
Your strobes are firing off of the first flash and your camera is taking the picture on the last flash.
