Anyone recommend a good Tripod for a Canon SD600 digital camera?
I am looking for a VERY small, compact, lightweight, yet STURDY tripod for my Canon SD600. I am planning on taking it in a pack to Costa Rica with me. Any recommendations?
Manfrotto makes excellent lightweight and sturdy tripods. Don’t get a cheap one, like Slik. The plastic parts break, and you don’t want that to happen when your camera is on it.

To Reduce Blur
Low speeds on the shutter can cause even minor movements to ruin a picture taken by digital cameras. A tripod will allow the photographer to increase the sharpness of the picture and reduce the amount of blur.
Increase Picture Quality In Low Light
When there is not a lot of light available, the exposure needs to be extended with a low shutter speed so that the picture appears clear. A tripod is an excellent way to use a low shutter speed and, at the same time, produce a clear and crisp image.
