I love the Olympus 720 SW! It’s awesome! I bought it a little over a month ago because I was going to Walt Disney World and wanted to be able to take great pictures at the water parks, and I’m very accident prone, so the fact that it’s shock proof is definitely a plus. While there, I did drop it. It’s shock proof up to five feet, I think, and I dropped it from probably just under five feet and it still works fine, no scratches or anything. I love that it’s waterproof, too, and it really is. I took it in the pool for about a half an hour and it was fine, and it took fabulous pictures under the water. At the water parks it worked great, too. I took it in the wave pool, all the water slides, and the lazy river. It was funny, on the lazy river one guy was like, “You better watch out, there’s a waterfall coming up.” I said it was okay, and he goes, “Well, your camera’s going to get ruined,” all sarcastically. I explained it was waterproof and he laughed at me as if he didn’t believe me. I just plunged the camera under the water for about a minute, pulled it up, and took a few pictures. He turned his float around after that and didn’t say anything else. lol I like showing it off to those who are skeptical. In the wave pool it took some awesome pictures of people being taken out by the giant waves. So, if you’re looking for a camera you can take underwater, this is defintely it. I think your only other option would be Pentax, they make a waterproof camera. But I don’t think it’s as good or as nice-looking as the Olympus 720SW. It also took great photos of fireworks, which was important being at Walt Disney World. It has all kinds of settings and the screen is big. The ONLY negative thing about the camera is that you can’t use the panoramic setting unless you have an actual Olympus memory card. That’s not really a big deal, though. Nothing that should affect your choice. I LOVE THIS CAMERA! I definitely recommend it, and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I bought it at Best Buy and all the camera specialists were talking about how badly they want that camera and how great it is. And the one on display had actually been stolen, the wire it was attached to was sliced. So, apparently everyone loves this camera!
