What camera should i buy?
I want a new DIGITAL camera.
It must:
-Be under $400
-Be good in low light settings
-Be good indoors
-Be preferabbly PicBridge compatible
[so i wont have to buy a new printer]
-Have at least 8.0 megapixels.
-Have a decent zoom
It doesn’t have to be one of those small pretty ones either.
I don’t care if its bulky as long as it takes nice pictures.
I was going to buy the Canon Powershot A630
but then i read reviews on how bad the redeye was
so i just forgot about it.
Until recently I was using the cheap Kodak Easyshare C530 along with the printer.
It made dark rings around the subject of the photo,
not to mention it turned my hair a different color,
and made my skin look odd.
I also couldn’t take mirror pics due to the flash.
And besides all that, it stopped working within 2 months.
so any suggestions?
If you are looking for a camera good in low light scenarios, that narrows it down pretty quickly. The Fuji F series is the clear winner here.
The F20 ($139) and the F31fd (About $230) are the two best low light compact cameras ever made. they have a clean ISO400, a very good ISO800 and a quite usable ISO1600 for smaller prints. The only thing better would be a DSLR. They are both 6 Mpix cameras but have outstanding image quality and rival most 7 and 8 Mpix cameras.
If you really want 8Mpix, you can get the Fuji F40- which is not quite as good in low light, but pretty close. Also in the low $200′s.
Second to the Fuji’s would be either a Canon or Sony with Image Stabilization. The Sony T100 is an excellent camera for about $400. Or, perhaps the Canon SD850IS.
