Should I use any cleaning supplies on my camera lens regularly?
Hi!
As a lot of you already know, I’m getting a Fujifilm FinePix S1800 for christmas! (WOOHOO!:P)
My last camera (A kodak P&S) broke, and I want to make sure I take care of this one! Should I clean the lens regularly? And what about the camera body? And what cleaning supplies should I use on it?! Any help?
Oh, and here’s a link to the camera I’m getting, if that will help^_^.. http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-FinePix-S1800-Digital-Stabilized/dp/B0035JD0DW/ref=cm_cmu_pg_i
P.S….Sorry I’m asking so many questions in this section lately….I just want to be as well-informed as possible so when my camera arrives, I’ll be ready to use it!:)
I’m sorry but….What’s a UV filter? T_T
Well done!
It’s great to see someone on YA who actually wants to know about their camera BEFORE they get it.
You’ve already had great answers, just don’t go *too* crazy about cleaning the lens, better to stop it getting dirt on it in the first place.
As for the UV/Skylight filter, basically it’s a screw-on filter which fits in front of the lens to add that little bit more protection to the front glass of the lens. Some say they are a waste of time, some swear by them ( I have them on all my lenses, but that’s just me ;_))
I’ve had a look at the manual and unfortunately it doesn’t look as if the lens on your Fuji is “threaded” to allow screw-in filters, but it’s not the end of the world, just be careful with your camera and you’ll be fine.
If you want a head start, download the manual from Fuji, here’s the link–
