Which one to choose: Sony T100 vs. Sony T20 vs. Canon SD850IS vs. Canon SD750?
Right now I am deciding to buy a digital camera. Now, I am sold on the Sony T100. I love the shutter speed, the image stablization, and especially the 5x opitical zoom. However, I am aware of the low lighthing issue it has as well as the low flash. Now if I am able to correct this problem by adjusting the ISO to 1600 or 3200…should I get this one? Or should I go with the much bullker but less complients Canon SD850IS with the 4x opitcial zoom. Or should I just save the money and just settle with 3x opitical zoom…but if that the case, which one do I get the Canon SD750 or the Sony T20. Based on your personal experience and knowledge, which do u believe is the better deal? I don’t mind either way, in spending the money for any of these camera. Or if you could suggest another camera, that would appreciated also. But please don’t just but Sony t100….yeaaaaa. I mean, can give me a reason why you choose either camera.
I was in the same position you are in about a month ago, i wanted the Sony t100 for sure, but soon after using the SD750 and SD850 i was sold on canon.
the Sony t100 is a very nice looking, easy to use camera, but the drawbacks are
1. Sony has their own memory stick (pro duo) which costs more than normal SD cards.
2. it has very high ISO settings but are very low quality going past ISO 400 or 800
the canon SD750 and SD850 are also easy to use cameras, with lots of features and excellent image quality. The SD750 is the better designed camera with a very large LCD screen, just like the sonyt100. the SD 850 has a higher mega pixel count and also has image stabilization (which helps with the low light shots a bit) , a smaller LCD and a viewfinder.
what that paragraph above means is that, with the SD750 you will be sacrificing quality (not much though) for a better looking camera than if you got the SD850. but the point is, if you choose canon you wont look back and wish you picked up that Sony t100, its hard to be disappointed with the power shot series.
