Chinon Camera Super 8
Proper film to use with super 8 cameras?
Hello, I have myself a (Cannon 514xl-s), and a (CHINON PACIFIC SUPER 8 SOUND 12SMR SUPER CAMERA) I know that for the super 8 cameras they have 5 different stocks available “one being discontinued” And I was curious about using Kodak Vision3 Color Negative Film 500T/7219.
I needed to know if vision 3 is compatible with those cameras. I would hate to spend $20 on film and have it not be compatible. And if it isn’t then would you know what film would be compatible?
The available films I know about are: Kodak Ektachrome 100D Color Reversal Film 7285/ Kodak Tri-X Reversal Film 7266/ Kodak Vision2 Color Negative Film 200T/7217/ Kodak Vision3 Color Negative Film 500T/7219/ I’m sure I can use all of them, but I want to use vision3, due to its higher quality. I just need to know if my cameras are capable of handling that film. I apologize for any confusion
The best thing I can suggest is that you contact someplace like http://www.spectrafilmandvideo.com/ and ask them for recommendations. A place that sells AND develops Super 8 film would be the most familiar with matching the film type to the shooting that you want to do.
