Looking for an entry-level DSLR?
im buying my first dslr (i’ve had regular digital cameras in the past, all were canon). i need a little help finding a good one. you should know:
it would be used for mostly posed pictures of people and nature, extensive yet simple focus options would be nice. also some candids/action shots. a little bit of everything, really .. also, it must have video recording, and be under $600. although ive been with canon my whole life, i’d be willing to switch, but ONLY to nikon. which company is better (especially in terms of customer service???? canon wasnt fantastic in that area. overall, any suggestions would be great.
Customer service for both companies is about the same. Canon and Nikon unfortunately prescribe to the modern notion that you get as much customer service as you pay for in their service plans. Despite this disappointing fact, both make very high quality camera that should’nt require much service. These are your choices from Canon and Nikon for under $600

My opinion is that the Nikon D3000 is the best choice for a beginner. It has a very simple control layout and a built in teaching mode. The picture quality is close in quality to the others listed. Unfortunately it does not have video mode. The only DSLR under $600 that does is the Pentax KX ( an excellent camera).
If you want to consider an advanced compact, both the G12 and P7000 have a video mode, are fairly small, and produce excellent photos. They also have enough manual feature to teach you the basic of photography.
If you want to spend a little more, you can get the new Nikon D3100 for $699. It has all the features you are looking for and is definitely the best cameras of the ones mentioned here.

Verification
All leads will have the product or service that the buyer is requesting. The lead will have the buyers: name, company, address, telephone number, email address and postcode, as a minimum. Our policy is to send you all RFQ’s within 1 business day from receipt of request. Suppliers have said that they prefer fresh leads with a comment in the QJ verification box which states that it has not been possible to contact the lead as opposed to leads that have taken time to contact with complete information.
New Development – QJ Verification box
We now have a “QJ lead verification note” shown in each lead view. The objective of this to provide our suppliers with additional information relating to the lead- we will include information such as – original source, i.e. how the lead was generated, Online, Offline, telemarketing, email, etc.We will also include notes relating to the lead qualification process – such as, has the lead been contacted or not by QJ – notes relating to this process and what additional information was gathered from this will be added here. The benefit of this additional information is to provide QJ suppliers with a better understanding of the customer’s requirements and allow the supplier to handle the initial contact with the customer more appropriately.

This is how we know who you are, the key contacts in your company and your targeted areas, products and services. This can be amended at anytime- it is not set in stone.
ADD notes in Leads Tab
Within your supplier account there is an add notes feature which enables you to track the lead and its details. Please note that this is for IN – HOUSE purposes only. We WILL NOT process a credit request from these notes. Please use the Support tab in your supplier account for this.
