Anyone have an address of a higher up at Canon, cameras?
My Powershot of almost 3 years simply stopped working from a bump that it should still be working from. Rather then throwing it away I want to send it to them. I read an article online once that said you should try sending your broken products back to the manufacturer.
If they truly stand behind their products, they will most likely do something to keep your loyalty to their company.
Might be a pointless cause….but it is better then just throwing out my $250 camera.

I don’t want to bother with getting it repaired….thats the point. I was going to throw it out rather or not. The point is that I want to see if Canon will stand behind their products. If they do, great, if not, I have only lost a couple dollars shipping the thing.
Just curious, when was the article dated? Businesses don’t run that way anymore. Your loyalty isn’t all that important. (Maybe if you owned a 1200mm f/5.6L, loyalty would be important, but not a single user of a Powershot.) It is going to cost you to get it repaired, but you won’t get it repaired without a Return Merchandise Authorization. Your repair might cost more than finding the camera on eBay or at a used store like KEH.
Also, are you closer to the East Cost (Jamesburg, NJ) or West Coast (Irvine, CA)?
Ah, Lifehacker. Maybe your best bet is to call someone up at Canon and ask for that information. To achieve something like you want, its gonna take a little more diligence. My contacts only deal with pros and camera stores.
