Professional Question about the Canon XL-2?
My husband has a Canon XL-2 camera, and I wanted to get him a nice case for Christmas, however I am a little unsure of which one to get. They both seem like they are good quality, but if there is anyone out there who has worked with either, I would love to hear your opinion on which would be better to use (easy to carry, open/close, protection, etc.) Help!! 
Hi there, I’ve used the Kata cases and they are great for a soft case and are well thought of by most people. The other one there the Magna I have no experience of but it seems to have a great idea built in..LED lights..lol..I like that. That could be an invaluable feature when you’re shooting in low light environments and have to fiddle about finding things in the bag. I also have another soft case here called a Vanguard..which is excellent as the pockets system is so well laid out, but I’m not sure if they still make it as I can’t find it on their site.
I think at the end of the day any of these major makes advertised for the XL2 etc will be fine if the main camcorder suppliers themselves recommend them.
Of course if you can find a hard aluminium flight case it would be better if he travels regularly with the camera. But make sure it’s a real professional one as there are some nasty cheap ones out there that fall apart quickly.
