What do you think of Canon Rebel SLR cameras?
35 mm, looking at a recommendation in the $300 to $500 range. I want a useful camera that can take good, steadyshot landscape photos as well as attractive portraits (in black-and-white, sepia and regular color) with adjustable lenses and more flexibility in aperture/shutter control and ISO, white balance, etc. than a Sony DSL with Zeiss lens.
I like the Canon Rebel XSi 450D as well. Canon just has such a long history with such great user support, that it hard to not recommend. It is a great camera to learn on and will give great pictures for years. I would probably spend the money though and get a better lens.
