BenQ DC E1030 Blue Dot?

Hi yahoo people! I have a tiny small and super annoying problem. I got a BRAND NEW BenQ Digital camera. I got it today at my workshop. Like 9 hours later my camera was out of charge, so i decided to charge the battery. When i put back the battery to the camera i notice this little blue dot on the screen, first i though it was normal then i turned off then back on and still there. I throw a picture and the dot isnt there. I take a video and the dot is there. Its kinda small but it brings the attention and its really annoying. I did some research and it may be a “stuck pixel” but i think it isnt. Any idea of what it is?

If it’s not on the actual image files and video files, then it is a stuck (or hot) pixel.
There’s nothing that you can do about it – as the manual says…
“The LCD display on this camera is manufactured with sophisticated technology, and more than 99.99% of the pixels on the LCD display meet standard specifications. Yet, it is possible that less than 0.01% of the pixels on the LCD display may have some light spots or show unusual colors. This is normal and does not indicate display malfunction, nor will this affect the pictures you take with the camera.”

It’s the same with all camera screens, whatever the make.

A Brief History of the Memory Card

Memory cards were introduced around 1990 when technology in mobile phones and digital cameras began to evolve and become more complex. Today it’s not unusual to have a mobile phone with a built in camera of 5 mega pixels which allows you to take photos of huge resolution. As in-built storage on phones is very low, on average around 10MB, the need for extra storage came about and so the memory card, the SDcard was one of the first.

While the SDcard was the first to be introduced this was quickly followed by the MiniSD, MicroSD, the MS Micro2 and the Micro SDHC. One of the first manufacturers to jump on the bandwagon with the need for memory was SanDisk, although many others have followed. Not only were they used in phones, cameras and camcorders they were also taken advantage of by those using video games controllers on the likes of the Xbox, GameCube and Play station.

Memory cards range from 512MB to a massive 8GB which is usually put to good use in the high end digital camera range. SanDisk produce an 8GB memory stick M2 which many of the new slim Sony Ericsson phones use. With multi-media phones having high resolution cameras, then large amounts of memory for storage is essential. The beauty of the M2 is that it is compatible with devices that use the memory stick PRO Duo with the use of an M2 adapter. The memory stick M2 also comes in storage of 1GB, 2GB and 4GB.

The Pro duo memory is used in the likes of consoles such as the Play station 3, Sony PSP, digital camera such as Sony’s Cybershot and some of the many Sony Ericsson phones.

The microSD cards are used in some of the smaller mobile phones and many come with a special USB adapter, this makes transferring media to and from your device quick and easy. Simply take the microSD card from the phone put it in the USB adapter and stick this into your computer and transfer your music e.t.c directly onto the card and then back into the phone or device. MicroSD cards come in sizes of 1GB or 2GB from SanDisk.

The MicroSDHC memory cards are used in the majority of Blackberry phones and the smart phones such as from HTC, LG and Nokia. These are usually either 4GB or 8GB and are used to store a variety of multimedia such as music, video and high quality photographs. A card reader can also be used with the memory card for ease of use when it comes to transferring media to and from the card.
