tamron and sigma lenses vs canon/nikon?
Sigma and Tamron both make lenses for nikon and canon cameras…even some high end ones..but are they really worth buying over the real things??
Also, are there any other companies that make lenses for canon and nikon other than
sigma and tamron that are high quality??
charts and figures wont do you any good. theoretical statistics can prove that an elephant can keep from falling over a cliff with his tail tied to a daisy.
yes. you can make sweeping comparisons between brands. here’s why….
third party lenses are cheaper for two reasons. one is because you are paying for the canon or nikon name. yes. there is markup because of the name.
but the most important reason they are categorically cheaper is because third party manufacturers cut costs by reducing the quality and performance of their products. they use faster, cheaper techniques and lesser raw materials. this results in an inferior product.
want proof OEM brands are best? thats easy.
look at any photographer who earns a living taking pictures. what lens is attached to his camera body? 99 out of 100 times it is a name brand match. do you need more proof than that?
Tamron 70-300 VC f/4-5.6 Digital Camera Lens
Sigma Vs Tamron fast
In recent years one of the big questions I was asked was, which lens is better, Tamron or Sigma? Well, to answer this question, I have two questions. "This type of camera did you" and then, "What kind of lenses you want?"
The first question is most important, because Sigma makes lenses for each system camera there, and Tamron does not.
For example, if you had an Olympus D-SLR like the E-620 (which I own) and I wanted a cheap fast lens for her, you would be limited to Olympus, Panasonic and Sigma Lenses 4/3s. Olympus has taken a different path of all camera manufacturers other and made their sensor in the form of the development of standards and the camera rather than take on the form of 35mm film. This means there is now a 4 by 3 aspect ratio rather than the three types of two aspect ratio of the film and camera manufacturers other (apart from Panasonic, which also uses the Mount Olympus and the shape of the sensor).
So here is the answer.
Sigma makes lenses for cameras fantastic like that.
For this question, say you are looking for a fast lens, the entire coast, and can zoom in and shoot quickly in low light well.
A lens You would be great for the 18-50mm f2.8 EX DC MACRO / HSM.
This lens has the ability to shoot in low light and bright light, focusing quickly and quietly and control depth of field at all focal lengths between 18 and 50mm. Now something to be aware of this, because Olympus has a multiplication factor 2X, you really get an angle of 36-100mm equivalent of the movie.
Now that all is said, if you have a Nikon or Canon, your best and bet your money is the Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC. It is an excellent lens and is usually cheaper than the Sigma counterpart. The Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM Lens Standard Zoom FLD Grand Opening.
Both lenses have the same focal length, the same openness and even high-quality glass and to apply an anti-vibration. The goal would be a great addition to your camera bag. My vote for Canon and Nikon users is the Tamron. If you have a camera Sigma, Olympus or Panasonic, then look in the system Sigma.
In any case, you will not be sad you did!
