Remote control helicopters/airplanes?
is it possible to make or possibly buy one helicopter or airplane that has a camera on it but also has a small tv screen on the remote control to view where its going without really looking at the plane itself? I know you can install a camera but can you install a camera and the tv reciever on the remote control.

How far can remote control airplanes and helicopters go ? Is there a way to make them go farther besides worring about the batteries and stuff.
I think it would be nice to have a remote control airplane with a camera on it and a tv screen to see where your going and have a range of about 1 to 2 miles (to be realistic….. more if possible) Where can I buy one like that?
The military uses ‘drones’ (Unmanned airplanes) like you describe, BUT YOU can’t buy one. (They actually fly them in Afganistan with the ‘controller’ at a console in Colorado!!)
The problem is the range of the radio equipment. What YOU can buy is limited in power and therefore range by law.
IF you have an amateur radio license, there ARE control frequencies that you could use to increase the range to several miles.
As to mounting the camera as part of the controls, I don’t know of any ‘commercial’ units where it could easily be done. (I use a separate receiver for my plane mounted TV transmitters!)
