It’s an old black and white movie. In the end the good guy gets captured by the bad guys and they’re going to torture him for some reason, maybe for information, I totally forget. Then all of a sudden the scene cuts to the good guy riding on a motor cycle or something with a beautiful woman and everything is wonderful and happy. And you (the viewer) are like “What? How’d he get there?” Then the scene goes back to the bad guys that had him captive and they’re looking at each other with discouraged looks and they say something like, “We’ve lost him. He’s escaped us.” The camera pans over to the good guy and he’s still tied up there, but he’s basically a vegetable. But he’s smiling.
At least, that’s how I remember it. I saw it one time about 10 years ago, late at night. I guess it’s like the guy “escaped” them by losing himself in his own mind where he’s happy
