Do you let your baby sleep in your bed when he/she is sick?
Just curious.
I co-slept with my baby until she was 7 months old and transitioned to the crib fairly easy. She’s come down with something and is running a low-grade fever (100-101) and I’m kind of nervous at the idea of her not being in arm’s reach during the night. I’m fearful though of her not transitioning back to the crib after a few nights back in bed with Mommy (she’s 9 months now)….I have a camera monitor but that doesn’t replace me being able to reach out and feel her body/forehead to check her body temperature.
I’m also a little freaked-out because a woman I work with just lost her little boy (2 years old) who had what they thought was a flu and he passed away!
What do you do when your baby is sick?
Yep! Definitely. We’re not officially co-sleepers, but when our boy is sick, he stays in our bed. I like to keep an eye on him and be able to check on him throughout the night without having to go into his room and possibly disturb him.
We also have him sleep with us when it’s hot out, since we have an AC in our bedroom, and rather than putting one in his room, he just sleeps with us!
The longest period he’s been in bed with us was maybe 5 nights in a row, but we have been lucky and haven’t had a problem with him going back and forth between crib and bed.
How scary about the woman you work with! So sad.
