Do you have much experience in digital camera to give me you opinion honestly??

I want to buy a digtal camera with the following spacifecation:

Specifications
Lens and Image Quality Megapixels 5.1 Megapixels
Optical Zoom 5 X
Digital Zoom 8 X
Image Sensor CCD
Max Aperture f/2.8
Min Aperture f/4.7
Max Focal Length 29 mm
Min Focal Length 5.8 mm
Maximum Shutter Speed 1/2000 sec
Minimum Shutter Speed 16 sec
Image Format JPEG
Focus Modes Automatic, Manual
Exposure Settings Program, Automatic, Manual, Aperture-priority, Shutter-priority
ISO Equivalencies 100, 400, 200, auto, 50
Metering Characteristics Average, Center-weighted, Spot
Macro Focusing Range 3-50 cm
Minimum Focusing Range 50 cm
CCD Size 1/2.5″
Number Of CCD Pixels 5.25 Million
Features Shooting Modes Frame movie mode
Self Timer Yes
Self Timer Delay 10 sec
White Balance Custom, Automatic, Presets
Continuous Shooting Speed 2 fps
Memory Flash Memory Type Flash – integrated (soldered memory – 32 MB )
What do you think about it.
Thanx.

These specs look pretty reasonable for an average digicam, with 2 exceptions:

. Unless that is a typo, f/4.7 min aperture seems a little lower than typical (but maybe they make up for it with the 1/2000 shutter speed, which is faster than usual). But it does limit overall flexibility somewhat. Closer to f/6 is better.

. You do not mention insertable flash memory. This is a must; 32 MB internal memory is only good for 10-15 pics.

So this could be a usable general purpose camera. It depends on how you will use the camera, and whether the size and controls fit your hands and lifestyle.

You do not mention the brand or price. If this is an unknown brand at a lower than average price, there would be some risk to getting it. Specs aren’t everything – quality matters too. (I am a little worried about the emphasis on digital zoom. Large digital zooms are often mentioned in bargain cameras, but in fact are pretty useless and only drop the clarity of your pics.)

If this is your first digicam and fits your budget well, go for it. But you may be unhappy with the pics later, and have to upgrade.

Good Luck

The Camera Specs That Matter
Big LCD screens and lots of megapixels may sound great in a camera, but other features will give you more bang for your buck.
