question for holga users —?

I just bought my first Holga camera about a week ago and got my first roll of film developed today. I wasn’t too happy with my results — or atleast they weren’t what I expected. They kind of turned out how they would have if I bought a disposable film camera. I was wondering if anyone had any idea where I went wrong? Did I tape the camera too much maybe? Or was it that I got it developed in C-41?

If anyone has any tips or suggestions I’d appreciate them a bunch — thanks!

Oh p.s., what I’m trying to achieve is that bright, colorful/contrasted signature holga photo. I’m just getting really clear, normal colored pictures, if that clears that up any…

I would think that a 35mm Holga image would be indistinguishable from a disposable.

Did you buy a 120 or 35mm Holga? The classic holga look only occurs with 120.
