How much would it cost to repair a camera or should I get a new one?
I have a A730 from General Electric. I had a warranty but its expired.I dropped the camera a couple of months ago and it still works but little lines show up on some of the pictures.Does anyone have an idea roughly how much it will cost to repair it?I was thinking of taking it to Best Buy, my cousin took hers there for the same problem and she said it cost about 25 dollars.

The thing with Digital cameras now days is, they are made and improved so quickly a lot of companies don’t manufacture a lot of spare parts for them, because they will just make another better camera a few months later.
Because of this it is often cheaper to buy a new camera then to have one repaired. especially because they are so fragile, so many things can go wrong when it is dropped.
There are plenty of places that will send the camera away for a quote of repair, this would usually cost between 15-30 dollars, this way you will know exactly what you will be up for and if its worth it.
But if you knew someone that had a similar problem with theirs, and got it fixed so cheaply, I would take it to the same place and try to get a “free” idea on what it would cost to get fixed, they may be able to tell you straight away by looking at it.
