Good camera bags for school?

Hey guys, I am gonna be taking a photography class at school pretty soon and I would like a nice camera bag to protect my gear. I am currently using a Tamrac backpack with my gear but I do not want to carry that as well as my other school backpack. I would prefer just a nice sidestrap bag or something. I need it to hold my Nikon D40 with battery grip, 70-300 lens, 18-55 lens, 35mm lens, and possibly a speedlight. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

I’m partial toward–in this order: Tamrac and LowePro; My Tamrac bag, with the straps that converted any (traditional) camera bag got me through my photojournalism program at S.F. State and then through my internship at the Seattle Times.

I later switched to a LowePro Backpack when I turned pro–and combined with the pouches I could attach to the hip strap/belt, I could carry a lot of stuff–including a small notebook computer. That was nearly over 8 years ago, and I”m now ready to retire it.

If I were to go back to school, and was in your situation, I would consider any of the following… The Tamrac 5261, 5262 or 5255 “Rollers”; LowePro also has some nice rollers in their product line as well. Some of these rollers are also backpacks as well, while others are cases.

You might want to also consider a “belt system” like the Tamrac Modular Accessory and Strap Accessory system. You can see all these products on their respective websites: http://www.tamrac.com & http://www.lowepro.com.

Hope this little bit helps.
