I am looking for an old 70s or 80s documentary showing the film techniques of a new Russian cinematographer.?

I believe it was a PBS Great Performances program in which there were very unusual continous flowing uncut camera techniques for its day. There were four or five shorts all done to classical music, the first being a ballet in which the dances would fly and levitate through the air. The second showed close ups of many peoples faces fading out to another directly behind the previous. The third short was in a classical garden, the camera constantly moving through the garden showing people in different poses. The last was a young actor climbing endless steps into the sky to the classical music “Bolero”. It is not the “Russian Ark” but somewhat similar. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

I searched, but not sure which you’re talking about. Here’s what I found: http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=film+techniques+Russian+cinematographer&aq=f&aqi=&aql=f&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=f96a38144cebfe91

I think this MAY be what you’re talking about: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/donquixote/behind.html
