Better *Beginner* Pro Photgraphy Camera?
Needs:
Great macro pictures (bumble bees in flowers)
But also great portraits of people. Fashion shots,
I also want to be able to take pictures of a basketball game if I get stuck in the nose bleed section lol. So zoom, and a fast shutter speed. I understand that that type of zooming would need a lens, so Im also looking for a brand that has the cheapest lens associated with them, but of course are good quality.
These are the cameras in my price range:
Canon – EOS Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera – Black
Sony – Alpha 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera – Black
Nikon – 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera – Black
Olympus – EVOLT 10.0-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera – Black
Give any other suggestions if you can please.
I also heard an Advanced Point and Shoot such as a canon g9 can be much better then the low end SLRS
You don’t want much from a camera do ya? LOL
Actually, you are kind of going about this wrong. The body of the camera is just not going to make that much difference. The LENSES are what will give you what you want. … and “cheap” and “good quality” do not go together, though you don’t have to spend a fortune. Any of the Canon or Nikon “standard” lenses will work well. The much more expensive Canon L series lenses would be overkill for you.
There is one alternative you might want to consider. The Sony Alpha camera can use “old” Minolta auto focus lenses. You may be able to find some good buys on Minolta maco and zoom lenses on Ebay and Craigs List and at used sellers such as KEH and the used dept. at B-H photo.
… and you can “hear” anything. The Canon G9 is a very good point and shoot, but it is STILL a point a shoot, and even a low end SLR is much better. The SLR has a much larger sensor size which means larger pixels and higher quality photos. Plus no point and shoot can match the control or lens selections of an SLR. Don’t be misled by the megapixel hype, there is FAR more to a camera than that alone. I would MUCH rather shoot with a 6 MP SLR than a 10 MP point and shoot.
