to what extent do cabin stewards clean your room?
in my previous question I was told “They have to make (or change, depends on the company’s policy) the bed daily, change your towels (unless you indicate not to), dust and or vacuum and arrange the clothes, papers, etc that the guests leave all over the place.”
to what extent do they shift around and mess around with your personal belongings?
where do they put things that are in the way like if you have a camera or heavy book or purse on a counter they’re trying to clean or bed they’re trying to make?

I have been on over 20 cruises, mainly Celebrity, Princess, NCL, and RCCL and the cabin attendants on all the ships have been totally brilliant. They do, everything, as you have been told and much, much more, all you have to do is ask.
If you leave your room in a mess, they will fold everything and leave it neatly stacked, they will move items to clean, and replace them. They will not take anything of yours from your room.
Be aware, that they are cleaning a number of rooms at the same time, so cabin doors can be left open and anything of value that you leave lying about is available to any passerby who has the nerve to nip into the cabin. The attendants are in your room a minimum of three times each day, cleaning, changing towels, turning the bed down and filling the ice bucket, they will probably spend more time in the cabin during the day than you will.
Never leave anything of value lying about in your cabin when you are not in the cabin.
