Estimate for cleaning CCD chip of a digital SLR?
We have a digital camera at work and as it’s used by a lot of people and with different lenses eventually some dust or dirt seems to have settled on the actual CCD chip. Air from a can doesn’t seem to be able to blow it away with the mirror raised. Did anybody here ever have their camera body professionally cleaned? How much money does it approximately cost and does one have to mail it in to the manufacturer of the camera or do local camera shops do this as well?
It may be best to call the help line for the camera brand you have and ask them for an authorized camera repair shop near you.
When I have sent my older DSLR’s into Nikon for a “tune-up” they also clean the sensors.
