What Dicapac model fits the Canon Powershot S95?
I am purchasing the Canon Powershot S95 and that camera is not listed on the Dicapac waterproof casing fitting guide located here: http://www.dicapac.com/new_eng/03_manual/sub02.html. Does anyone know what model I should buy? I need to know ASAP as I am leaving for a trip January 3rd. Thanks
@Curious Thank you for your thoughtful response, I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the Canon case and do not have roof for something as bulky as that in my backpack.
The Dicapac W310 doesn’t have a single Amazon review of someones camera being ruined from the water and most of the reviews are raving about how effective the product is. For the price, this product should do the trick. I just want to know if the W310, W410, or W510 is the right model for the Canon S95. Thanks again for your response, but I am still looking for an answer.
Hansen,
Don’t fool around with a knockoff for an expensive, expert-shooter, point & shoot camera like the S95.
This is the casing Canon recommends. I suggest you pony up the money or skip the underwater shots. You don’t want to ruin your entire vacation by getting a leaky casing that destroys your brand new camera, or one that won’t allow you to work the camera’s buttons.

Also, I highly recommend you read your User Guide before starting to use the camera. And, get out there and take a bunch of shots now, before you leave on your trip, so you’re familiar with the menus, how the features work and what buttons do what (if you haven’t done so already…). You don’t want to get in a “Kodak moment” situation and not get the camera to do what you want.
If you can, take a laptop or portable memory drive with you to offload your vacation pics at the end of each shooting day. Just to be safe in case of a mishap in which something happens to the camera or memory card.
If what you mostly want is to use a camera underwater, I’d suggest you look at some of the well-rated P&S’s that are really geared to that function (like the Canon Powershot D10 or Pentax Optio W90). And not go for the S95 which is like a DSLR in a P&S body. Even though it does correct for underwater color. You can always do that in an editing program.
P.S. Okay – even though I won’t endorse a 3rd party option because of the possible risks to your wonderful camera, here’s something you might check out to help you decide (it’s a chart that tells you which D. model to choose based on zoom length): http://www.dicapac.com/new_eng/03_manual/sub02.html

Good luck. Have a great trip.
