How do I take a photo of motion like baseball players with a digital camera?
What is the best way to photograph baseball players with a camera? Set it at mode “S” then raise the shutter speed to 1000, and then raise the aperature to about 5.3?
For some reason the photo comes out too dark when I raise the shutter, but if i keep it around 15 , then the brightness is perfect but wont pick up the motion., Any suggestions?
If you have it on shutter priority obviously you set the speed and the camera selects the best aperture…if you are outside taking pictures of a baseball player and it is a dull day…1000 is probably not enough light for the sensor…watch the little arrow inside the viewfinder (underneath you have +1,+2, ect)…when it is is the middle, this means that you have selected the correct speed for whatever kind of day it is…if the arrow is above or below the middle point, this means that your camera has set lowest aperture possible but because you have set such a fast shutter speed it will be underexposed (or overexposed if you had set too slow a shutter speed)…for capturing motion you only really need something above 1/250 (1/500 to be sure)…this way your camera can set a resonable aperture but you will still capture, say, the basball player pitching the ball…just watch the little arrow to make sure your not over/under exposing the photo…hope this helps
