Where can I go to fix a digital camera? (sand in the lens)?
I think I got a grain of sand in the lens since it is not opening (it stopped working at the beach, so that’s my theory). When I turn it on, the lens opens almost all the way, begins to make this clicking sound for a few seconds, then retracts. There is a feature where you can view photos without turning on the camera and that still works fine, it’s just the lens.
Also.. I bought this camera from Amazon.com at the beginning of summer-ish (it’s now December 26th) so I can’t return it or go to the store to get it fixed since it was online. Is there a place I can go that specializes in fixing cameras? I don’t know, Best Buy’s Geek Squad? I’m completely clueless, and I am set on trying to fix it.
The camera model is a Casio EX-FC150, it was around $230.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it’s sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera’s been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended …
Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they’re worth a try.
