What bait and tactics should I use at a small gravel pit (mill cotton fisheries)?
The small gravel pit is over fished and is about 10m wide and curls around at 5ft deep. There are silly rules no hair rigs, no ground bait, no boilies and only 1 rod. Its also over fished the best tactics I have used have been caged feeder blended bread and bread ball on the end it works ok. I have fished lilly pads with not much luck and also the far bank. Could anyone suggest good baits I’ve tried pellets with no luck too. Sweetcorn is overused and not that great could worms work. I have caught small barbel before but nothing huge. Carp can be double figure the biggest I’ve ever had was a 4lb mirror. I want ideas of getting round the stupid rules maybe a method feeder packed with a bait or a float with a new bait. The more ansers the better cheers!
i’d just use worms as they give off a scent that fish love. just before going there, stop and get some worms and fish it with a bobber and a sinker and wait for bites to set the hook.
