have i got the right fishing rod?
i am a beginner to fishing and the type of fishing i want to do is freshwater float fishing. i have a 12 ft cypry carp rod and a hiboy open face spinning reel. whenever i watch videos on youtube about casting open faced spinning reels the rods always seem to be completely different looking to mine, for starters they seem alot shorter in length and from were they hold it they seem very short and easy to cast, but when i look up videos of casting with my 12ft cypry carp its a whole completely different way of casting. i feel very lost on the subject and i hope to go fishing soon in the next week or so, please help!
please remember i am very new to fishing so try and talk as if you were talking to a five year old because thats as good as i am right now! haha. thanks for all your replies
Good rod there. But next you need a boat. I use a 14 foot sometimes 16 foot. Dobbing or jigging rod. Put on a jig,with hook swivel. And dob, in and around the logs and brush with it. Then change to a lure and cast. Longer the rod. More open space you need to cast. Short rod is better if walking the creek. And casting to pools. Trees overhead.
